One of the great things about the CARHA Hockey World Cup is that you don't get to explore just the Host City, but surrounding cities too!
Richmond is perfect for this event because of the potential day trip destinations that surround the city.
The days you aren't playing hockey can be spent doing any number of activities, seeing some of the very best that Canada has to offer.
Some of the options include:
Vancouver - Just a short hop, skip and jump away, Vancouver is one of the largest cities in all of Canada, and has endless options for bars, restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. Take advantage of Richmond being right next door and explore Vancouver!
Squamish - Squamish is just over an hour from Richmond, and features the Sea to Sky Gondola, which has amazing views and a waterfall cascading down a series of cliffs. The Britannia Mine Museum has underground train tours, and bike trails criss-cross the area!
Victoria - Slightly farther than the previous two destinations, Victoria is a short flight, or ferry ride and drive away. It's home to CARHA Hockey's Pacific Cup Tournament, and has endless amazing views that you'll never forget.
Kelowna - Located in the Okanagan Valley, Kelowna is surrounded by provincial parks, forests, vineyards, orchards and mountains. If you're into wine tours and tastings, Kelowna is the place for you!
Whistler - Home to Whistler Blackcomc, one of the largest ski resorts in North America. Whistler also offers toboganning and showshoeing, so if outdoor winter activities are your thing, take two hours to jump on over to Whistler for a good time!
Seattle - A Non-Canadian option, but great option regardless. Cross the border to the United States and explore Seattle, one of the nicest and largest metropolitan cities in North America!
There's options for everyone surround the City of Richmond. Take advantage in 2020!
