Congratulations are in Order!

The PyeongChang Winter Olympics saw some fantastic hockey competition, and congratulations are in order.

Congratulations to the Olympic Athletes from Russia, who captured the gold medal on the men's side with a 3-2 shootout win over Germany.

Germany is perhaps the biggest surprise of the Olympic tournament, appearing in their first gold medal game since the 1970's, upsetting Canada and Sweden along the way.

Canada, a perennial hockey powerhouse, was able to sneak away with the bronze medal after a 6-4 win over the Czech Republic, a country that surprised them with a loss earlier in the competition.

On the women's side, it was the United States shocking the world, ripping the gold medal away from the Canadians who have won the last four Olympic competitions.

Other countries continue to gain ground on the international women's hockey scale, and this time around it was Finland capturing the bronze.

Medals aside, everyone involved in this competition was a winner. The sportsmanship, respect, passion, and quality of competition seemingly never fail to rise with each occasion.

It's these exact qualities that we see in each and every one of you at the CARHA Hockey World Cup, and that's why we are so excited for Richmond in 2020.
